Design with Purpose
Homa Reto is a humanitarian platform leveraging geospatial intelligence to centralise disaster risk management. It connects resources, needs, and people through a social network. Their mission? To unite activists, curate open data, and foster connections that drive meaningful change in disaster-prone communities.
When Eliane, the founder of Homa Reto, reached out, the project was already in motion, with a dedicated team of researchers and a lead UX/UI designer shaping its early development. Stepping in midway, I had to quickly get up to speed, integrate seamlessly, and contribute meaningfully to the design process.
Passionate about design that drives change, I worked closely with the team to refine the user interface and visual design, ensuring every decision aligned with Homa Reto’s mission. Together, we developed a fully functional MVP, ready to generate interest and secure the support needed to take the project to the next stage—whether through crowdfunding, partnerships, or future investment.
The result? A seamless, user-friendly prototype that not only showcased the app’s functionality and potential but also laid the groundwork for meaningful adoption and growth. It was a rewarding challenge that reinforced just how impactful thoughtful design can be.
